What is SUCCESS?
WHAT IS SUCCESS?
The dictionary says; The achievement of something desired, planned, or attempted. The gaining of fame or prosperity.
I don’t like those definitions. I want to tie success with Joy and Happiness. Are you a success if you achieve something desired that you thought would make you happy just to find out it really didn’t make you happy.
Here some definitions from my personal on the street survey.
Success is…living your life and never been arrested, handcuff, in jail, or even harasses by the Police.
Success is…Getting a PhD degree
Success is ….Owning a Corvette
Success is …Buying a house with a swimming pool
Success is ….finding the right Spouse
Success is ….seeing your children graduating from college
Success is …a six or seven figure job
There are people who have achieved these goals and are still miserable!
Success is being happy. Happiness is an inside job; no one else can make you happy but YOU.
For me, Success is personal growth. Success is at the end of the year (2007 for example) doing a personal inventory and determining that you have skills and knowledges that you didn’t have in 2006. Success is getting acknowledgement from your peers that you are extremely good at what you do. Success is helping someone else achieve their goal. Success is making someone you really care about smile.
